Az FT891-el nem csak a CW memóriákat lehet vele használni menü nélkül, hanem a VFO-t is lehet hangolni, és direkt frekvenciabevitelre is jó. Nagyon hasznos kiegészítő!

Versenyzésnél nagy segítség, hogy ne kopjon el a szájad/billentyűd a sok CQ-zástól. SSB-nél a jelszintek beállítása kissé trükkös, FT-991A esetén a Setupban kell külön a monitor hangerejét (010 DVS RX OUT LEVEL), és az adásba menő szintet (011 DVS TX OUT LEVEL) beállítani. Ügyelj rá, hogy az adásszint a gyári 50-es értéknél túlvezérli az RF fokozatokat, torzan szól, úgyhogy ennél kisebb értéket kell beállítani.
