Yaesu M-90D desktop microphone

The Yaesu M-90D is a dynamic microphone with a wide frequency response, optimized for speech. The most outstanding feature of the microphone is that its modulation transmits only the sound spoken into the microphone and completely filters out other ambient noise. The M-90D desktop microphone complements the Yaesu transceiver with an easy-to-use accessory that excels in modulation quality. Whether for a long QSO with a neighbour or a DX QSO with a rare station, the M-90D provides a pleasant and intelligible modulation.

The additional high-pass filter reduces bass by 6 dB per octave from around 340 Hz. A built-in isolation transformer provides full galvanic isolation and results in clean, hum-free modulation.

Two connectors are built into the bottom of the microphone: RJ-45 and 8-pin. The connectors of these jacks are wired in parallel, so that the supplied cable with RJ-45 plug and 8-pin Foster plug can be used in both directions, depending on which jack the transceiver is equipped with. This also means that most Yaesu transceivers of the past decades can be operated with the M-90D without an adapter. Some older units (FT-1000,-710, -747, -840, -850) require an additional 5V power supply.
